About Us
Ben Thompson lived and worked in Dayton, Ohio but he loved to get away from the city and bring his horses to ride trails at the Bear Lake Horse Camp.
Ben planned to have his own private stables and campgrounds, but he was encouraged to supply horses and trails to the many State Park visitors.
He grew up watching Roy Rogers and Trigger on television and since his stable is close to the boyhood home of Roy Rogers it seemed appropriate to name his stable Ben's Happy Trails. Roy Roger's theme song was "Happy Trails to You".
Boarding & Breeding
We also offer horse boarding and breeding. Our 20 stall pole barn is available for boarding as well as field boarding.
Our monthly boarding includes:

Grain, hay, water, and turnout daily.

10'x12' stalls.

Stall cleaning.

Sawdust bedding provided.
Most of our horses are Morgans. They are born and raised here at Ben's Happy Trails. Registered Morgan Stallions are available for breeding.
